Obedience is Better than Sacrifice

In the Bible, Judah angered God by their sinful ways and their worship of idols. God sent messengers to them asking them to repent and return to God. The people ignored the messengers and continued on sinning. When God got fed up with their sinful ways and not following Him, he sent invading armies against Judah and Israel and scattered them into other countries...Jeremiah 5:1-31

Obedience is better than sacrifice...1 Samuel 15:22

God does not change. He is the same God of the old testament as the God of the new testament. He is the same God who became angry with Judah and Israel's sinfulness, and their reluctance to repent and return to Him. He is the same God who is now angry with our sinful ways and our rebellion against His teachings....

"For rebellion is as {serious as} the sin of divination {fortune-telling}, and disobedience is as {serious as} false religion and idolatry." 1 Samuel 15:23

Are we so blind that we don't see that many of the hardships we face in the world today, could be due to our sinful ways. Judah and Israel's hardships were because of their disobedience towards God's teachings. Isn't it possible the hardships we may be facing to day is because of our disobedience towards God? Could that be a possibility?
